very year, without fail, millions of people create New Year’s resolutions that are statistically going to fail.

We aren’t being pessimistic. The facts are that less than 10% of New Year’s resolutions are actually attained, leaving millions of “good intentions” that ultimately mean nothing.

Resolutions are usually goals that are actually important (getting healthy, quitting bad habits, new goals, etc.), but yet are rarely achieved. This completely relates to business, and “milestone related mindset shifts”.

Many businesses begin with good intentions, much like a New Year’s resolution. They see large companies making ethically unsound decisions, and declare “when our business is that size, we won’t ever make those shady decisions!”

But yet, the decisions within your business are not aligned with your good intentions. You may have shortcuts within your payroll (to save a little money) or less incentives for your employees than you originally dreamed of. Your reasoning for not creating the ideal situation within your company is “because you are waiting until you are bigger”. Like a New Year’s resolution, there is a 90%+ chance it will never happen.

Just as you have probably realized you need to begin your fitness/career goals today, the same goes for growing your company.

Realistically there is no “right time” to create a positive, goal-rich, rewarding and encouraging company. It will never get easier with time. The best time to start is today.

The bottom line: If you aren’t willing to do it today, you won’t do it in the future.
